Rimstinger Wappen

Rimstinger Wappen

The municipal coat of arms os Rimsting

It shows a horizontal golden wavy bar and above 3 golden balls on a green background. The golden wavy bar is the symbol for the location of Rimsting at the Chiemsee and the Eggstätt-Hemhofer-Seenplatte. The three golden balls are the adjuncts from the Holy Nikolaus, the patron saint of a church of the parish church St. Nikolaus. The altarpiece represents the legend of the Holy Nikolaus: When an impoverished nobleman wanted to send his daughters on the street to earn money for their dowry, St. Nikolaus threw 3 gold chunks through the windows of the sleeping girls and so he sheltered them from blame.
